Susie Antubam, 14
Hi my name is Susie, I’m 14 years old. I live in South Kilburn and go to Queen’s Park School. I want to be on the youth board because I want to help the under 16’s get their voice heard. I’m a really nice person and a good listener. I care about what young people have to say. I understand how young people feel in South Kilburn because I am one of them. I feel like I should represent them in a way to make sure our points and arguments are put across.
On top of all that I love South Kilburn. Vote for me because I will represent South Kilburn! |
 |
David Antubam, 12
Hello my name is David. I am 12 years old and I go to Queen's Park School. I moved from block to block and I have been living here for 2 years. I have met new friends.
I want to be voted because I can work very well with 5-10 years old. I can also sort incidents. I would like to be an advocate for my school.
If I get elected I would improve the sports activities including badminton, football and basketball. So please vote for me so I can make South Kilburn a better place for you! |
 |
Jake Aujala, 11
Hi, my name is Jake, I live on Princess Road. I’m 11 years old and I go to Queens Park School. I think it’s important for young people to have a voice. There’s not too much to do in South Kilburn so I want there to be more sports clubs and for South Kilburn to be a safer area for young people.
Also, I think the parks need to be improved and it’s only small things that need to be made better but it would make a big difference. South Kilburn has lowered its crime levels but I think it could be reduced even more.
That’s enough about what I think – I want to know what you want so vote for me if you want to improve the area for young people – we’re just as important! |
 |
Hannah Ball, 15
I think I’ll be good on the Youth Board because I can listen to what people want to happen and change things around SK to improve it. I think there need to be more music facilities as music is one of the main ways people can express themselves freely.
I also think there should be places where we can go and kotch until later than 9pm so we aint getting into trouble on the streets! I have good communication skills, teamwork skills, and I’m responsible.
I will make sure that your voice is heard and we get what we deserve and need to have fun in OUR ENDZ! |
|
Antillia Canoville, 14
Hi, my name is Antillia. I am 14 and go to Convent. I live on the South Kilburn Estate. I’m kind and a good listener. I love listening to people’s points of view and always repping my ideas. If I have a view I always make sure it’s heard. I’m very confident – trust me, I’m anything but shy!
Let’s get down to business… I got nominated by my friends from the OK Club to stand here because I’m a good representative for people and their views. I’ll help bring more music and sports facilities to South Kilburn. I can help make the ends better and safer for everyone.
Please vote for me! |
 |
Gavin Fontaine , 14
The reason I think I should be re-elected is because I want to continue the good work that I started this year.
I have been part of the Young People’s Select Committee on anti-social behaviour where I was able to question local and national representatives about youth issues. I also went on a residential course where I was able to represent you when talking to the government about youth issues. Also, through the Youth Board, I have been able to fund important youth projects that will benefit all young people in our area.
Vote for me and I will ensure that your voice will continue to be heard. |
 |
Mary Gyima, 13
Hi, my name is Mary Gyima, I am 13 years old and I go to St Augustine’s C.E. High School. I want to be on the Youth Board for the second time because I have experienced a wonderful time and would like to join again.
If I get this chance I would like you all to enjoy yourselves, so I would help groups like dance, football and music. I want South Kilburn to be your South Kilburn, a place where you have something to do every day.
Vote for me and I will make South Kilburn yours and give you the chance to have your say. |
 |
Sarah-Jane Kavanagh, 13
Hi, my name is Sarah-Jane. I am 13 years old and I go to Queens Park Community School. I want to be on the Youth Board because I think children never get listened to.
I will be a good Youth Board member because I will listen to what you have to say and I think South Kilburn should be better and the crime should be cut down. So if you vote for me then I will get clubs on, like dance, Art, drama, dance for the girls and football for the boys. Boys and girls could also do sports like tennis, badminton, football and cricket.
So if you vote for me South Kilburn will change. |
 |
Tekla Moore , 15
Hi, I’m Tekla. I’m 15 and I do dance at the Tabot. I want to be on the SK Youth Board so that I can help change South Kilburn. South Kilburn needs to reduce crime, clean up, and have more after school activities for young people. I’m very confident, I know the area well, and I’m not afraid to say what I think.
Help me to help you change South Kilburn for the better - Vote Tekla! |
 |
Dwight Okeke , 12
For those of you that don’t know me I’m Dwight, Dwight Okeke. For the past year I’ve been on the Youth Board working on important projects such as awarding grants to; FAB magazine – the latest fashion mag, business skills training for young people, a variety of dance projects and a football project. I also went on a residential in Lancaster to discuss youth issues and represent young people from SK. I have also been representing young people in the Youth Forum meetings and I went to Stratford to look at a community TV project and have advised the NDC Board to bring it to SK. I think that you would approve of what I have already done so if you haven’t done it already – Vote for me! |
 |
James Rhodes, 14
Hi, my name is James. I have been living in South Kilburn now for 6 years and I know from personal experience that it’s not that safe here. My personal experiences with people trying to take my phone have been endless. Too many incidents have gone unnoticed and young people should speak up.
Also, the facilities around here are not in good condition either. We need more sporting facilities to give kids more sporting opportunities. We should have a South Kilburn Sports Centre for all ages.
Vote for me and your ideas will be fulfilled. |
 |
Jazzelee Rhodes, 16
Hello everyone, Jazzy here. Well guys, thanks for voting for me last year. I have really enjoyed myself and have had a great experience and so I want you to vote for me again.
Like I said in my last manifesto I want to be a voice for you. I feel that I have carried out my word on the Youth Board by speaking out for the youth. I have represented you by interviewing local residents and business people, youth service providers, the police, local wardens and government officials, and asking them about what they are doing for young people. I also went on a residential trip with two other youth board members to give advice to the government on youth matters. I have helped a number of youth groups in funding their projects in SK and recently I have been in the local newspaper talking about the many issues that occur in our area.
So SK, vote 4 me! |
 |
Dorsha Thompson , 12
Hi my name is Dorsha. I am 12 years old. I want people to vote for me so the voices of 16’s can be heard.
I think that I should be chosen because many people know me around South Kilburn. I think that there should be more activities after school, safer parks and a club which has different activities for everyone.
Vote for me, if you really want a change! |

GROUP 2: 16-24 AGE GROUP |
|
Michael Bustillos, 20
I have been on the youth board for a year now and have really enjoyed my time. I would love to be part of it for another year, so vote for me because I will be able to provide people with what they really want. I listen to others and I want what is best for the area, and will give you things to do, to benefit your future.
My plans for the area are to provide football pitches- nice- looking and hi- tech with lights for night play, a skate park, ramps, and good space with training provided. For the older lot, the 1, 2, 3, project- that includes making music, writing lyrics, and making videos.
And you’re the boss!! Training and guidance and facilities free for all!! I’ll do what is said and what is said only! So trust me. |
 |
Faisal Dhondee, 20
Alright, you’re probably thinking why should I vote for this guy? Well I will put it in to view for you. I feel that South Kilburn youth definitely don’t have a voice and if you feel the same way then vote for me to be your Voice!
Have you ever wanted funding for sports, music or media projects? If you vote for me I’ll get you that funding.
Youth of South Kilburn stand up and have a Voice! |
 |
Robert Doku , 23
Hi my names are Robert and I have lived in South Kilburn all my life. Right now I work in the Talbot centre; I think it’s really important that the Youth of South Kilburn have a say in what happens in their area. I want to be a part of the Youth Board to help improve the area for other young people. There’s lot’s of things I’d like to be able to do; music is important to me and I would like to get a space where young people can go and make their music.
So if you want some positive changes in South Kilburn vote for me I will do my best to make them happen. |
 |
Jason Edgehill, 22
My name is Jason, I’m 22 years old and I have lived in South Kilburn all my life. You should vote for me because I’m down to earth (real) good listener, understanding and supportive.
I know that I can express all you problems and certain situations that young people are going through. It’s all about improving South Kilburn, the community, involving our young people and not putting them down, and introducing more youth clubs for 16 yrs onwards to give them activities to do and keep them off the streets and stop local crime.
More training courses for the young people and support groups as well for the ones who just came out of prison.
Vote for me because I’m out for my people! |
 |
Keisha Fredericks , 19
I’ve lived in SK all my life so I’ve seen lots of changes, not always for the best; street crime is still up, the youth still have nothing to do. Neighbours complaining all the time about he youth on the corners, but really there’s not much for us to do and a curfew has just been put in place.
That’s why I want you to vote for me again – there is a lot more I want to do. I can really make a difference. I want to be the voice of the misrepresented youth of SK and try to get some action done; in fact, not try, GET some action done.
I’ve laid my cards out on the table and they are all good – I hope that you can see what I’m trying to say, which is SK is no fun but it could be if all the hard work pays off. The sky’s the limit so reach for the sun; if you don’t den you won’t ever get none! |
 |
O'Shane Griffiths , 16
Hi my name is O’shane and I am a resident of South Kilburn. I would like you to vote for me because I am a good listener and I would like to help people in South Kilburn. I want people in South Kilburn to have more opportunity that can help them to improve their lives. I have good teamwork and communication skills and I also know how to approach young people. I would like to stop crime in the area I want to get people off the streets because kids need a place to go to so that we can have fun and enjoy ourselves.
So I think you should vote for me because I can give you what you want. I know that I can make a change in South Kilburn to help all in the area.
Thank you so much. |

Mahamed Hasan Omar , 20
Living in South Kilburn for four years has given me experience of the ups and downs of the area. I would like to be a Youth Board member because I feel it will give me even a greater knowledge of the area. Also I am interesting in working with youth because I feel they can relate to my way of life since am young and I’ve experience a lot things which the youth of today experience.
I feel this will give me a great pleasure as well as enabling me to fulfill my wider ambition. I volunteer worked for ‘voice’ and I have developed a wide range of useful skills such as working under pressure and communicating with different people from all works of life. I also want to give something to community because I come from a very rough background so therefore I feel as if the community etc has provided me with a lot of opportunities so I feel as if I should give back to the community
Whether I’m elected or not I’m still willing to get involved with the Youth Board and play my part.
I am confident modest and reliable but I am always willing learn. |
 |
Ozy Ikhile, 17
Wus gud South Kilburn, I’m Ozy aka Logic- you might have seen me around always rockin red n black. I have decided to run for the Youth Board because I feel that SK could be a better place for the youth.
If I’m elected I promise to do what I can to create more facilities and sporting clubs for young people to use. I will not only be targeting the younger, but also the older youths of SK because I feel that we do not have things to keep us busy.
A vote for me is a vote for a brighter future. I may not be the best man for the job but I know that the job would make me a better man. |
 |
Isha Michael-Sesay , 20
Hey Guys!
Its Isha again, thank very much for everyone who voted for me last year. I’ve had a really brilliant year on the Youth Board. I've learnt and grown so much. I would love to be on the Youth Board again and I feel I have more to learn and give. I would really like it if you could please consider me again to be on the South Kilburn Youth Board.
Wouldn’t you be glad to have someone on the board who has lived in Kilburn all their lives, one who knows the positives and negatives and wants to change as many negatives into positives as possible? This person is me! I love South Kilburn and want to change South Kilburn for the better.
Vote for me if you want to do your bit for the community. You may not want to be on the Youth Board, but voting will still make a difference.
Think Positive. Think Change. Think Isha!

Being on the South Kilburn Youth Board means a lot to me as it means I can make a difference in young peoples’ lives, giving them a more enjoyable and safer environment to live and grow up in.
Being re-elected will mean that I will continue to be able to make the changes that YOU want to make in South Kilburn so that YOU can help me and the other members of the board create the South Kilburn that YOU want. |
